Sam is a second generation Cuban American. His father emigrated to the US in 1961 at age 6 as part of Operation Peter Pan. His mother was a ballet dancer from Russian Jewish heritage.
After being appointed to The House of Representatives as a independent in 2014, he lead to commission that eventually abolished the US embargo on Cuba and was elected 47th President of the United Sates in 2024, and only second President without party affiliation after Georges Washington.
